Concert Number Two

Around the rise of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement, there had been a growing demand for diverse voices to be represented across society and the arts. Musicians increasingly performed works by composers beyond the dead-European-white-male. Yeon-Kyung saw composers she knew and who were closest to her – Koreans. Building on her vision for Concert Number One, she brought together ten highly-qualified pianists around her and coupled them with eight individual Korean composers who completed their graduate study in the Midwest. This ambitious project was made possible with the support of the Community of Faith Presbyterian Church in Crescent Springs and Knox Church in Cincinnati. During the preparation of this concert, Glow Music was registered as a non-profit organization in Ohio. The concert was an absolute success, attracting the most diverse congregation the church had ever seen.
